IF I COULD CHANGE YOUR MIND

In recent years I have become a practical shopper in terms of trying to attain a wardrobe that is both work and play worthy, and one that can cross both parameters, given that I don’t have many occasions that call for dresses other than Christmas party season (although I think that is about to change with a sudden influx of wedding invites, as well as 30th birthdays on the Horizon) its unlikely that I ever really go on the hunt for one, as I mostly stick to separates simply for the versatility factor, so when I saw this Story by tang dress I surprised myself with an instant affection for it. If I am going to go for a dress I definitely go for something that is a modern cut, elegant but with a little bit of sass, I love that this dress has a high neckline, but reveals just enough side boob and back for that summer kick.

Refresh

I can’t describe how excited I was for the first day of Spring! (if you follow me on Instagram you may have seen me captured in a slightly silly moment jumping for joy on top of this roof top car park) It seemed like we had been waiting forever for a decent amount of sunshine, and shine it did. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect start to September, and after battling wind and rain for months, postponing shoots due to inclement weather, and freezing my fingers and toes off whilst parading around in bare legs all in the name of fashion, it was refreshing to bask in the warmth of the southern sun. This outfit perfectly summed up my mood, palm print shorts and a fresh white floaty shirt, which billowed perfectly in the breeze. Refresh, regenerate, renew.

A Moment in the Sun

These two pieces were among my favourites of the Maurie & Eve Summer collection, ‘A Moment in the Sun’. The combination of the relaxed oversize Tee and the more structured ladylike skirt is me to a tee (pardon the pun) and of course the whole monochrome feel of this is very Summer 13/14. On top of that the fact that there is cow print in this collection excited me a great deal as it’s a bold statement yet minimalist at the same time.  This will certainly be a look I’ll be sporting all summer and its easy enough to dress down by simply adding a pair of white converse.
