Love it or Loathe it, there will always be those moments in fashion that are the rule breakers in every sense of the word, we either embrace it or we vow never to compromise on what we’ve always believed to be a fashion no no.
When I first saw socks and sandals appear on the street, I admit I was apprehensive, after all it was mostly old men or tourists on cruise ships that sported this look. But then I realised it wasn’t merely about socks and sandals any more, this was about the ability of a designer, namely Phoebe Philo, elevating this humble look that we all most likely turned our noses up at, to something that was worthy of catwalk status, and worthy in turn of being embraced by the street style set.
And although I am not one to embrace a trend for the sheer fact it is in, and am quite happy to admire how others scan pull it off, there are those rarities that work perfectly with my style and I am happy to say with this one, my toes are snug and my sandals have become trans-seasonal.
