SILICA

The one place that always clears my mind and rebalances my soul. Crisp whites, Classic shapes, and Summery skies included.. and with that said this post is dedicated to Mental health week, a week that resonates with me quite deeply and is particularly relevant to the creation of Love rush.

It’s quite easy to get caught up in this world of social media, blogging and the overall Fashion industry and forget that behind that new pair of shoes, or that Louis Vuitton handbag, are people and lives.  Lives that go far deeper and beyond the flatlay, a photo of a healthy breakfast, or the latest style post.

I started Love rush 4 years ago during a time when I was diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety, at the time my inability to accept anything less than perfect was affecting my ability to be myself, to the point where I found it a huge effort to simply function normally (whatever that is) on a day to day basis, for absolute all consuming fear of failure and not being good enough at anything. Love rush began as a small step to letting go of the fear, and gave me a focus that took my thoughts away from what was going on in my head, it now serves as a reminder that everything is ok and that it’s enough just to be where we are, and to be content with that.

LO SORDO

Whenever I have been called upon to go business shirt shopping, 100% guaranteed I end up with a handful of choices in varying shades of blue and usually pinstripes, I’ve spent months eyeing off a classic pinstripe shirt at Topshop and naturally was in awe when I saw the Michael Lo Sordo and Dion Lee Line II Spring/Summer 15 collections  at MBFWA earlier this year..PINSTRIPE HEAVEN only on a totally different level to those aforementioned Mens business shirt options, and Spring freshness guaranteed.

TIME TO WANDER

It always fascinates me how many people like to quote the line ‘not all those who wander are lost’ and in the next breath ‘getting lost is the best way to find yourself’ either way why do we need to constantly justify to one another that we are focused and have a plan, and the need to reassure ourselves that wandering without purpose or being lost isn’t acceptable.. Some times its better to forget the rules, the expectations and simply wander, get lost not to find yourself but simply to loose yourself in a moment, don’t seek clarity or answers just simply be here and now in the present.

LOVE RUSH X HAIRHOUSE WAREHOUSE

I recently got together with Hairhouse Warehouse to celebrate all things Spring and the launch of their new haircare packs. Being a Red head (and yes it is completely natural, and has never been touched with hair dye in it’s lifetime) I am forever getting compliments on my hair, obviously we always take for granted the attributes we are so very use to. I’m generally quite low maintenance when it comes to my hair, it gets washed once a week, and cut maybe every 4 months, so when it comes to haircare products, I like to ensure I’m using something that will keep my hair luscious in between cuts, and help with those pesky split ends. The new Hairhouse Savvy hair repair pack is right up my alley, everything a girl could want in one fell swoop, including, Shampoo, Conditioner, Treatment, and even a travel hair dryer. Those of you that follow me on instagram would know I am currently travelling Europe, so a light weight and compact hair dryer has been an absolute life saver.

BE FOOLISH

Cropped Sweats + Cropped pants, and just the right amount. And have we talked about these slides yet?..I may just be quietly obsessed with this pool slide revolution, and I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t at all interested in birks the first time around, but lets face it these aren’t birks.. so technically I’m not going back on my first thought, and I shall continue to accrue an acceptable amount in my summer shoe collection.
