Back in June I was lucky enough to attend the Maurie & Eve Summer 13 showings, where I got a sneak peak of the amazing pieces dropping in store in October. I feel like in some ways I have grown up with Maurie & Eve as a label since my early 20s and each season the collections get stronger and my shopping list gets longer. There is so much goodness in the Summer collection and this dress caught my eye straight away, the fabrication and construction of this dress made it a standout for me, I love the snake embossed effect of the cotton, and the midriff cutout is a winner for summer.

As my obsession with white grows, so does my aim to dress head to toe in varying shades (well not quite as I still love black on my feet) Come summer though white pumps or sandals will replace the black, and a white muscle tank will replace the chunky knit, but for now I’ll create my own winter wonderland in one of my most loved combinations in my wardrobe right now.

This airtex fabric dress was one of those online purchases that could have gone either way – amazingly well, or sent to the returns pile. At first all I could think of was mesh crop tops with bad vinyl pants and glow sticks. I’m pretty sure I witnessed girls wearing that kind of attire clubbing way back in my early 20s (yes that was 10 years ago) But to my surprise and relief when I put this on, I was pretty sure I’d be going back for the Black version as well. Currently this dress is being sported as a skirt as its great under all my winter knits, however as soon as the weather warms up I will reveal in all its glory, the long sleeve midi dress that is a new staple in my ever expanding monochrome wardrobe.
