The savours in my wardrobe at the moment consist of a slowly expanding edit of lace-ups, brogues and loafers, and a midi skirt collection the could rival the school librarian, but hey bookworms are cool right? ..

You know when you find that one thing you’ve been searching for that you never knew was missing, and you actually didn’t realise you were searching for it until you find it? I’ve had that moment many times in my life, most of the time it’s so significant that it’s life changing, I’m not going to hail this Olive Green coat as life changing, but I’m certainly putting it up there as a ‘what did I do without you’ moment.

What I love most about dressing, is the discovery of pieces in my wardrobe that work together in a way that I have never worn them before. The dress (made by me) has been my go to for many occasions, usually worn with lace up brogues, or slides and a denim jacket slung low around my waist for dressed down occasions, is now converting to a tunic style tee, as trends for the coming season look towards proportion play and plenty of layering.

Ivoire.. not just a fragrance by Balmain, but a greater portion of my wardrobe is occupied by a neutral hues that I can’t but help want to wear all together. Maybe its the bride to be in me, that is currently consumed with the decision between off white, white, champagne, or ivory that it seems to be translating into my everyday life.

What you need in your wardrobe as opposed to what you want are two completely different things.  One of my new years resolutions is to reduce the items that I buy on a whim, and increase those that I will wear continuously and still love in another 5 years, the bigger the closest the better in my opinion is simply consumerism gone haywire. It’s no secret that bloggers get given copious amounts of ‘stuff’, for this reason I’m limiting the number of collaborations I take on, and sticking true to the image I have built up. Love Rush is completely about me and my take on style… That said if there was a uniform for life, this would be mine (maybe not practical considering Melbourne Winters) Essentially this outfit comprises of 6 items no wardrobe should be without;
