My biggest dilemma when going home for a while is transitioning my wardrobe from Melbourne to Sydney, not everything translates so well to the relaxed lifestyle of Sydney’s northern beaches, and I sometimes feel too overdressed when I feel like I should be barefoot. But this outfit for me is a winner, the wide leg pants spell summer to me, but are just as at home on an autumn Sydney day, teamed with a new favourite this sheer Maurie & Eve top (I love the silk burnout) keeping it all tonal but airy and light.

Last week Steve Madden showed their SS12 collection at Sydney’s Establishment hotel, here’s a little sneak peak of what to expect for summer from the brand…. Wood finishes, aztec inspired prints and woven raffia details weave an artisan feel into the collection with a mix of neutrals and eye popping colour. The popular smoking slipper is amped up a notch with all over studded styles and heavy embellishments, while heels and ballet flats get tough with spikes and studs. Neon makes a statement with sky high wooden heels and simple flats for hot balmy nights. While cute ballet flats in leopard and Dalmation prints make a practical statement.
