Are you ready for your close up?…

The hardest thing about Winter, other than knowing how many layers to wear in order to keep warm, is maintaining clear, healthy skin. Lack of sun, the cold temperatures, heaters at work and home, all contribute to dull, dry and often problem skin. I am the first to admit I am guilty of neglecting my skin during Winter, despite having the strictest skincare regime (make-up comes off straight after work, and there is not an excuse under the sun that would have me sleep in it, if you have camped with me at festivals you would know the lengths I go to, to make sure my skin is always fresh). So this Winter with a wedding on the horizon I decided to make some skin investments, cue my new obsession… Micro-dermabrasion.

What is it – Microdermabrasion basically works by buffing away the surface layer of skin, exfoliating away dead skin cells, and promoting the generation of new skin cells.

The results – Youthful and glowing skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, reducing excess oil production and reducing open and enlarged pores. I have also noticed less hormonal breakouts, and skin clearing faster when I do happen to have a breakout.

Where to get it – Skin clinics and qualified beauticians, my personal recommendation Laser Clinics Australia, I make a regular visit to Laser Clinics Highpoint as part of my new skincare regime. For brides I recommend booking in for the Glowing Skin Package  this is best to start a couple of months before your big day

Laser Clinics Australia Sale offer $100 Peel Accelerator and Cleansing Microdermabrasion (+Glycolic Cleanser $30)
